BL Review: Man of Tango by Tetuzoh Okadaya

The Passion

It has been a while since I did a BL manga review. But I wanted to write about Man of Tango and why I believe is a really good manga to read. This manga is Bara sub-genre. As it is based on mature male relationships, older men, masculine features and more adult themes. It took me by surprise how much I grew to enjoy reading Man of Tango. (I wish I could find more Bara titles to read)

The Story

Angie is a professional Tango dancer and performs in clubs with his dance partner Bene. Angie has one-night stands with male strangers. The sex is great but Angie doesn’t feel satisfied. He longs for a deep connection with someone. That changed when he meets Hiro. There was an instant connection between both men. 

Angie invited Hiro for a drink at his home. After a few drinks, both men become comfortable with each other. Hiro talks and opens up about his tragic childhood past. There is a beautiful moment when Angie comforts Hiro after Hiro told Angie about his harsh childhood. The child inside Hiro began to heal from all the pain. Then Hiro opens his body to Angie. Then Both Hiro and Angie had sex. When Hiro Woke up the next day and he realised that he slept with Angie. 

Hiro regretted his drunken one-night stand with Angie. however, he cannot get Angie out of his mind. Even when he has sex with someone else, he can stop thinking about Angie. his feelings for Angie grows stronger but not sure if it’s real. So Hiro meets Angie again to clear up the confusion. But Angie confesses his feelings. Then it became all clear that Hiro has fallen in love with Angie.

I really love this manga. it is a realistic and touching story. I instantly connected with the characters and really felt sorry for Hiro. Angie was so loving and tender to Hiro. 

The bedroom scene is very sexy. not too over the top but done right. The art style is solid and distinctive. 

This manga is similar to 10 Dance (another boy love story) with the ball dance theme but I personally like Man of Tango more than 10 Dance.

Highly recommend adding Man of Tango to your BL collection. It’s solid characters and sensual drawings.

Anime Review: Merman in My Tub

A very handsome mystified merman, Wakasa. lives with a high school boy, Tatsumi. Tatsumi looks after Wakasa, he feeds him and provides him everything he needs in his bathroom.

Wakasa is a very playful merman. He is very comfortable with the luxury of the nice scent of soapy baths and doesn’t want to return to the sea.

I like Wakasa’s rad blond hairstyle.

I’m a sucker when it comes to anime with good-looking male characters.

Tatusmi is a quiet teen, who lives alone. (I don’t know how a teen lives at home alone) but his little sister visits him sometimes.

Wakasa friends come and join him in the bath with Wakasa. Takasu the Octopus and Mikumi the Jellyfish. They are all a hand full to deal with.

It is 4 minutes long. The anime is funny and lighthearted.

The anime is very eye pleasing, I like the style and look of the characters. The characters are drawn nicely.

The Intro is bizarre and confusing.

The only criticism I have with this anime is there are not enough exciting scenarios. The anime doesn’t go as far with the storyline. It could have more playful interaction with Tatsumi and Wakasa. Maybe a hint of romance *wink wink*

There is also a manga that you can buy from amazon. I have not read it.

Anime Review: High School Life of a Fudanshi

BL is for everyone!

Sakgaichi Ryo (nickname Gucci) is a normal high school boy who has a passion for BL manga. He is a Fudanshi a Fanboy of BL/Yaoi (I don’t know what Fudanshi means in Japanese). A Fangirl is a Fujoshi (meaning Rotten girl)

He struggles to buy BL manga from bookstores without someone taking notes. He also worries he’ll get judged as a guy who likes reading male gay romance. He stated in the first episode that a guy who likes reading Bl manga doesn’t mean he’s gay. (which is true)

His dream is to find other Fudanshi out there and make friends with similar interest.

He already has a friend with a really cool hairstyle, who is not an Otaku. but is just a good friend to Sakgaichi San.

In episode 2 he made friends with a girl, a Fujoshi, she was nice to him. In future episodes, she helps him buy BL to save the embarrassment. 

The anime is sweet and nicely animated. It’s a short 4 minutes long show. Packed with funny scenarios and quirky characters. This anime made me laugh a lot. Sakgaichi Ryo is like the male version of me.

He has nice eyes and a beauty spot.

He has a huge tempura pillow! I would like to own one. It looks like he is hugging a large chicken nugget.

I normally buy BL manga online. But I did use to borrow a BL manga from the library. I get really embarrassed because the librarian has to open the book and scan, the first page has two guys touching each other up.

The anime also reminds me of Gakuen Handsome. which is also available to watch on Crunchyroll. 

There are men who read and enjoy the romance genre. it has become a stereotype that if men read romance it is strange. it’s not right. everyone can read anything they like.

If you are a Fudanshi or fanboy and feel embarrassed it. Don’t worry, it does not matter. Enjoy reading BL!

Watching this anime will be very relatable to you.

I rate this anime 4 stars out of 6.

I wish the anime continues with more episodes.

Anime Review: DAKAICHI -I’m Being Harassed by The Sexiest Man of the Year

This anime will leave you feeling hot and tingling.

A new yaoi anime is now available to watch on Crunchyroll.

I was lucky to discover this anime by chance. I was thrilled it was a new yaoi anime. I always watched Junjo Romanic or World greatest First love on Crunchyroll, so it was refreshing to watch different Yaoi anime.

Takato Saijyo is an attractive famous Japanese actor, trying to get by in his acting career, but another attractive actor Named Junta Azumaga (aka the Pervert Angel) is taking over his crown as the sexiest man.

The story is very fast pace, 20 minutes of watching the anime there’s already a bedroom scene.

I was not prepared for what happened next.

In that scene Junta San confessed his love to Takato San and make a fast move on him. He is very persistent and obsessed with Takato San.

The bedroom scenes are very suggestive and steamy.

There are no graphic details, only a scene of hot kisses, licking and touching. However, is very clear what they are doing. (foreplay cough cough)

Junta San tries to get into Takato San his downstairs department anytime he can. whenever he does that to him, Takato San behaves like a little  submissive schoolboy (he’s age 28 by the way)

There are a lot of funny moments in this Anime. After the film shot, Junta San takes Takato San away and Takato’s manager just allow Junta to kidnap him. Also, Junta San keeps tipping Takato San with 1,000 yen.

Both characters Junta san and Takato San are good-looking couples. The drawings on the characters are seriously good. The animation is neat and well executed.

There is a manga to this, which I just discovered in the comments. It is named Dakaretai Otoko Ichii Odosarete Imasu.

I keep watching certain episodes 3 and 4. (I was not the only one doing that) especially episode 4 as Takato san wears his old school uniform, both Takato San and Junta San play teacher and student.

The only criticism of this anime, it lacked development in the story and not enough conflict. Perhaps the anime could have a good plot.

I rate this anime 5 stars out of 6.

I would definitely recommend this anime to someone who is already into BL/Yaoi.
